Training & Learning Specialist – Houston

About the role

The Training & Learning Specialist will design and deliver engaging training sessions for Texans Together staff, foster and adoptive parents, and community participants. Working both virtually and in‑person, the role supports the organization’s mission to improve outcomes for children and families in the Texas foster care system.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate instructor‑led training in classroom, virtual, and e‑learning environments, ensuring alignment with Community Based Care standards.
• Lead virtual refresher and compliance sessions for tenured staff, adapting facilitation style to remote learners.
• Coordinate in‑person and online workshops, tailoring content on the spot based on audience background.
• Prepare training spaces, manage logistics, print materials, and ensure technology and virtual platforms function smoothly.
• Collaborate with program and evaluation teams to meet contractual obligations and compliance requirements.
• Maintain accurate attendance, completion, and evaluation records in the organization’s Learning Management System.

Required profile

• Full‑time, exempt position reporting to the Director of Professional Development.
• Experience facilitating training for employees, foster/adoptive parents, and community participants.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS) for tracking attendance, completions, and evaluations.
• Ability to set up and operate virtual training platforms and classroom technology.
