Training and Education Specialist II

About the role

The Delaware Department of Agriculture seeks a Training & Education Specialist II to support agricultural leadership development for youth and adults. The role coordinates the LEADelaware fellowship program and oversees the DE FFA Association across middle‑school to collegiate levels.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and deliver instructor‑led, virtual, and on‑the‑job training courses and workshops.
• Organize materials, equipment and assistive technology to promote effective learning.
• Research and recommend delivery methods based on evidence‑based practices.
• Coach participants, collect feedback, and analyze data to evaluate program quality.
• Make recommendations for course improvements, new instructional methods, and resources.
• Provide technical guidance on training matters and maintain accurate records and reports.
• Support the LEADelaware program by managing communications, logistics and facilitating leadership instruction.
• Collaborate with the Department of Education to manage DE FFA operations, state officer teams, large‑scale events, workshops, travel and stakeholder engagement.

Required profile

• Experience planning and delivering training or educational programs.
• Ability to coordinate communications, logistics and large‑scale events.
• Familiarity with agricultural youth leadership initiatives.
• Strong analytical skills for data collection and program evaluation.
