Tractor Operator – Heavy Machinery

About the role

EMI Services is seeking a Tractor Operator to work at Military Ocean Terminal Sunny Point. The role involves operating tractors equipped with rotary cutters to clear overgrown vegetation, brush, and small trees, ensuring safe and usable land around the base.

Key responsibilities

• Drive tractors and bush‑hog rotary cutters safely across uneven terrain, narrow spaces and around obstacles.
• Cut and clear dense brush, tall grass and light saplings to reduce fire hazards and prepare sites.
• Scout work areas, remove hazardous debris, rocks, wires and stumps before mowing.
• Perform pre‑ and post‑operation equipment inspections, greasing, fluid checks and visual checks of tractor and cutter components.
• Maintain accurate time sheets, schedules and work order documentation while coordinating with the lead operator.
• Follow strict safety protocols and cutting schedules.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years experience operating heavy farm machinery or industrial tractors.
• Consistent attendance, punctuality and a valid driver’s license (REAL ID compliant or willingness to obtain).
• U.S. citizenship required for access to the military installation.
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug screen and background check.
