Track Laborer – Regional Driver (Palestine, TX)

About the role

Join Union Pacific’s team of track laborers and help maintain and improve railroad tracks across your assigned region. As a Track Laborer – Regional Driver, you will ensure safe and efficient train operations by performing essential track maintenance, repairs, and material handling.

Key responsibilities

• Transport and unload track materials and equipment using appropriate devices.
• Perform routine track maintenance, including ballast removal, replacement, tamping, and unloading from ballast cars.
• Repair, install, and remove track components such as spikes, bolts, and pullers.
• Operate equipment safely to drive spikes, tighten/loosen bolts, and handle pullers.
• Maintain compliance with safety regulations, FRA requirements, and Union Pacific operational guidelines.
• Collaborate with coworkers, supervisors, contractors, and customers to resolve issues and maintain positive working relationships.

Required profile

• Minimum age of 21 years.
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) – Class A or Class B.
• Acceptable driving record as defined by Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) standards.
• Ability to meet FMCSA medical qualifications for commercial drivers.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
