Tooling & Platform Engineer – Harness

About the role

This role is responsible for owning and evolving the Harness platform as the enterprise software delivery platform. You will drive CI/CD, security testing orchestration, engineering insights, and cloud cost management while shaping policy‑as‑code standards across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Own the Harness platform, defining architecture, RBAC, governance, and vendor relationships.
• Design and maintain reusable CI pipelines, build caching, parallelization, and CD strategies such as canary, blue‑green, and GitOps.
• Integrate security testing (SAST, DAST, SCA, container and secret scanning) and set remediation policies.
• Define engineering metrics (DORA, flow, lead time) and ensure they guide system‑level improvements.
• Implement cloud cost visibility, budgeting, anomaly detection, and chargeback models.
• Manage the full SDLC toolchain, establishing golden paths from code commit to production.
• Set guidelines and controls for safe AI usage in design, coding, testing, and documentation.

Required profile

• 10+ years in software engineering, solution or platform architecture, with senior leadership on distributed, high‑availability systems.
• Experience in payments, fintech or other regulated transaction‑processing domains.
• Proven ownership of an enterprise CI/CD platform and pipeline‑as‑code at scale.
• Strong knowledge of engineering delivery metrics and their proper use.
• Ability to influence technical direction across teams and communicate trade‑offs to executives.
