Title 24 Energy Analyst / Environmental Designer

About the role

Atelier Ten, part of Surbana Jurong, is seeking a full‑time Title 24 Energy Analyst / Environmental Designer for its San Francisco office. You will develop whole‑building energy models, ensure compliance with California’s Title 24 Part 6 Energy Code, and support multidisciplinary teams in delivering high‑performance, sustainable projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop energy models and compliance documentation for Title 24 Part 6 projects using CBECC, EnergyPro, IES‑VE or similar tools.
• Analyze building envelope, HVAC, lighting and hot‑water systems for code compliance and identify cost‑effective pathways to exceed performance targets.
• Prepare technical reports, summaries and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
• Support senior staff with sustainability assessments, life‑cycle cost analysis and climate impact mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with architects and designers to recommend energy and carbon‑reduction measures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or higher in Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Building Science or related field.
• 1‑3 years of professional experience in building energy analysis and California Title 24 compliance modeling.
• Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail and proactive problem‑solving attitude.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CBECC, EnergyPro, IES‑VE, EnergyPlus or eQuest.
• Knowledge of ASHRAE Standards 55, 62.1, 90.1 and 189.
• Experience with Title 24 Part 6 Energy Code compliance.
• Familiarity with green‑building rating systems such as LEED, WELL or Living Building Challenge.
• Advanced Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills.
