Tire Mechanic – Full‑Time, $29.75/hr

About the role

RLC is seeking a dedicated Tire Mechanic to join its Antioch, TN service center. You will work full‑time, Monday‑Friday, handling tire changes, repairs, and maintenance for a class‑8 fleet of tractor‑trailers.

Key responsibilities

• Change and repair tires on class‑8 fleet vehicles.
• Mount and dismount truck and car tires safely.
• Operate truck balancers and air wrenches on‑ and off‑the vehicle.
• Perform service calls on the road using a service truck.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with DOT and out‑of‑service criteria.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of commercial tire experience.
• Ability to lift up to 125 lb and stand on concrete for extended periods.
• Current operator’s license and clean driving record.
• Basic knowledge of tire DOT information and out‑of‑service standards.

Required skills

• Mounting and dismounting truck and car tires.
• Operating truck balancers and 1‑inch air wrenches.
• Identifying retread vs. new tires and wheel types with proper fasteners.
• Using basic hand tools to tighten wheels to company standards.
• Repairing tractor‑trailer tires according to company procedures.
