Therapist – Trauma‑Informed Behavioral Health Professional

About the role

Thrive Now Recovery Centers is seeking a licensed Therapist to join its Iowa City location. The professional will provide individual, group, and family therapy within a trauma‑informed, recovery‑oriented environment, supporting clients affected by substance use and mental health disorders.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct biopsychosocial assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and risk screenings in line with DSM‑5 and state guidelines.
• Develop, implement, and regularly update individualized treatment plans using ASAM criteria.
• Deliver evidence‑based therapies such as CBT, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing in individual, group, and family formats.
• Respond to crises, ensure client safety, and follow facility policies.
• Document all services accurately and timely to meet Medicaid, payer, and licensing standards.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, case consultations, and utilization reviews.

Required profile

• Current, active licensure as a mental health therapist (LCSW, LMFT, LPC, or equivalent).
• Experience conducting assessments and delivering therapy in a residential or inpatient setting.
• Strong understanding of trauma‑informed care and recovery principles.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
