Testing and Service Technician – Optical Sorting Machines

About the role

AMVT LLC is seeking a Testing and Service Technician to support the performance and reliability of its optical sorting equipment used in rice, grain, nut, coffee and seed processing. The role involves laboratory testing, on‑site installations, and providing technical support to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct detailed sample testing, evaluations and result summaries in the lab.
• Perform on‑site demonstrations, installations, training and maintenance of color sorters and related machinery.
• Provide troubleshooting and technical support via phone and internet.
• Manage trade‑show materials and represent AMVT at industry events.
• Oversee shipping and receiving of samples, machine parts and equipment, and maintain accurate service documentation.

Required profile

• Fluent in English (listening, speaking, reading, writing).
• Previous experience with industrial machinery testing, installation and service (preferred).
• Vocational or technical degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field (preferred).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel frequently (≈50% of time) and relocate to Bakersfield, CA.
