Teleoperation Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Teleoperation Engineer to sit at the intersection of our operations and engineering teams. In this role you will train and manage a team of teleoperation operators, establish data‑collection standards, and act as the bridge between project management and the technical teams developing our teleoperation and policy systems.

Key responsibilities

• Spend significant hands‑on time operating robotic systems, maintaining proficiency across teleoperation interfaces (VR, joystick, control rigs) and setting execution standards.
• Onboard, train and evaluate teleoperation operators, establish QA processes, SOPs, tracking, reporting and maintain data custody.
• Act as the primary bridge between operations and engineering, surface operator feedback, identify error patterns, and support improvement of data‑collection pipelines.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of professional experience in training, quality assurance, or a technical environment.
• Completed or in‑progress technical degree (Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, etc.) preferred.
• Exposure to teleoperation, VR‑based gaming or control systems is a plus.
• Background in a structured, process‑oriented, fast‑paced operational setting.

Required skills

• Strong communication and documentation skills for technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Ability to assess quality rigorously and coach others toward consistency.
• Comfortable working with digital tools, interfaces, and data‑driven workflows.
• Basic technical understanding sufficient to engage productively with engineering teams.

• Base salary range: USD $60,000‑90,000 (depending on skills, experience, and location).
