Telecommunications Project Manager (Low Voltage)

About the role

Applied Business Communications (ABcom) is a national low voltage BICSI Certified Prestige commercial structured cabling contractor recruiting its next telecommunication project managers. The role oversees telecommunication crews that install support systems such as category station, backbone and fiber optic cabling, security, CCTV, audio-visual and fire alarm systems, and handles copper and fiber termination, splicing and troubleshooting. The workplace is on site.

Key responsibilities

• Oversight and project management of telecommunication crews covering support systems, cabling types and termination, splicing and troubleshooting.
• Manage day-to-day project activities to deliver on cost, on schedule and on quality.
• Create and use delivery tools: baseline schedules, commitments, change orders, staffing, material management, ordering and invoicing.
• Negotiate, contract with and manage subcontractors.
• Report status and financials to internal stakeholders, end customers, subcontractors and vendors.
• Travel overnight in and out of state as needed.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience estimating and managing projects in the telecommunications cabling industry.
• Construction management experience and managing projects with multiple subcontractors is a plus.
• Supervisory experience.
• Data center and Wi-Fi experience desired.
• Valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
• Desired certifications: PMI PMP and structured cabling certifications such as BICSI RCDD or vendor certs.

Required skills

• Knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
• Ability to complete and submit accurate documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project.
