Technician, Operations – 2nd Shift

About the role

The Technician, Operations works on the second shift at MSD's Animal Health facility in Worthington, Minnesota, supporting the production of vaccines for large and companion animals. The role involves preparing media, operating fermentation vessels, and maintaining a cleanroom environment while following cGMP guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare media solutions, working seed stocks, and bacterial antigens.
• Operate and clean fermentation vessels and related equipment.
• Perform downstream processing of intermediate components.
• Follow written SOPs, production outlines, and cGMP documentation requirements.

Required profile

• High School diploma/GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in Biology, Microbiology or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Good communication skills and ability to work well with others.
• Successful completion of a Physical Abilities Test.

Required skills

• Media preparation and fermentation vessel operation.
• Cleanroom gowning and aseptic technique.
• Knowledge of cGMP guidelines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• SOP writing and documentation review.
