Technician II – Electrical Testing (Mid-level)

About the role

Intertek is seeking an experienced Technician II to join its Electrical team in Cortland, New York. The role supports engineering staff by performing routine product testing, equipment maintenance, and data collection for a wide range of industries.

Key responsibilities

• Read and apply test methods, specifications, schematics, and manufacturing instructions for equipment under test (EUT).
• Identify, set up, and operate test instruments such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, multimeters, dielectric strength testers, surge generators, and environmental chambers.
• Build and calibrate test fixtures using hand tools.
• Execute testing according to approved test plans and record results in compliance with standards.
• Perform basic analysis of test data and routine calculations.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and support routine equipment maintenance.

Required profile

• Mid‑level technical experience in electrical testing or a related field.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, test methods, and manufacturing instructions.
• Willingness to travel up to 5% of the time.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety and quality standards.
