Technician – Eye Care Clinic

About the role

The Technician plays a vital part in supporting eye care providers by gathering essential clinical data, preparing patients for examinations, and ensuring smooth office operations. This position combines patient interaction, basic testing, and administrative duties to help deliver high‑quality eye care.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare patients for eye examinations and explain preliminary testing procedures.
• Perform all preliminary and doctor‑requested tests on patients.
• Assist optometrists and ophthalmologists during patient procedures.
• Coordinate patient scheduling and monitor flow, communicating any delays.
• Maintain a clean, organized exam room and manage inventory of medications and supplies.
• Provide a safe and welcoming environment for patients and staff.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the office manager or physicians.

Required profile

• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light physical work.
• Capable of lifting up to 15 lb from floor to waist, 5 lb to shoulder, and 5 lb overhead.
• Good visual acuity to assess work accuracy and cleanliness.
• Strong communication skills for patient interaction and team coordination.

• Starting wage of $15.00‑$17.00 per hour, based on experience.
