Technician 2 - Toner Lab

About the role

Beyondsoft is hiring a Technician 2 to support a global software client's Toner Lab onsite in Boise, Idaho. The role is technical and supports the client's R&D LaserJet development activities. It is a full-time position with day shift, Monday through Friday, at the client site.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, run, monitor and record results for R&D and CPE cartridge tests, including ISO-IEC 19798, ISO-IEC 19752, ABA Index, OPC wear, tone mass and gas gage testing.
• Keep equipment within specification and up to date on calibration dates.
• Read test plans and procedures to run tests using tools such as Jible, Quartz, HPNPF and EWS.
• Upgrade firmware via USB, EWS and USBSend.exe on multiple platforms, review test results in real time and report anomalies, collect e-label reader data and monitor the SLOP program with the DART board.
• Take part in internal and external audits, use virtual machines for testing, scan unreleased cartridges and archive PQs and test cartridges.
• Split and weigh cartridges, operate the toner hood and paper counter, and help keep the lab organized.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED; a 2-year STEM diploma is highly desirable, and on-the-job training can substitute for it.
• Preferred: 2 years of technician experience in a product development test environment, which can be reduced with education, certifications or related experience.
• Able to work independently in a multi-task environment with minimal supervision.
• Good communication skills with product and firmware engineers.

Required skills

• Intermediate PC skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access).
• Running basic scripts and scheduled files.
• Preferred: experience with toner cartridges, printer setup (HP and non-HP), and A2LA certification under ISO-IEC 17025, 19798 and 19752.
