Technical Service Specialist – Surface Treatment

About the role

Join BASF/Chemetall’s Surface Treatment business unit as a Technical Service Specialist supporting customers across the state of Georgia. Based in Atlanta, you will act as the primary technical contact, delivering expert service, troubleshooting, and value‑added solutions for metal surface treatment applications.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line technical support to key customers, including plant personnel training, line audits, and startup of new processes.
• Coordinate and execute service visits, test work, system clean‑outs, and continuous‑improvement activities.
• Prepare clear service reports, upload them to Salesforce, and communicate findings and action items to stakeholders.
• Manage inventory, purchasing, and reporting activities for assigned accounts.
• Participate in business reviews and safety initiatives, acting as a safety ambassador for customers.

Required profile

• Residence in the Atlanta, GA area with willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, including occasional overnight trips.
• Strong technical background in surface treatment, corrosion protection, or related chemical processes.
• Ability to complete BASF compliance and technical training programs.
• Excellent written communication skills for service reporting.
