Technical Sales Representative – Surface Treatment

About the role

We are seeking a Technical Sales Representative to grow our Chemetall surface‑treatment business in the Cincinnati, OH, Louisville, KY, and Lexington, KY area. You will act as the primary contact for established and prospective customers, delivering complete sales and service while ensuring safe, high‑quality product performance.

Key responsibilities

• Contact and develop relationships with established and prospective customers in the assigned territory.
• Understand each account’s business activities and tailor sales presentations and proposals to their specific needs.
• Manage territory profitability by reviewing margins, selecting optimal products, and applying appropriate pricing.
• Provide technical recommendations that strengthen our competitive position.
• Negotiate pricing within approved limits and deliver accurate quotes.
• Achieve sales targets by acquiring new customers and expanding business with existing accounts.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date opportunity pipeline in Salesforce CRM.
• Travel 50‑60% of the time, using a company car and covering all travel expenses.

Required profile

• Proven experience selling industrial chemicals or surface‑treatment solutions.
• Ability to understand customer operations and translate them into tailored sales proposals.
• Strong negotiation and pricing skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
