Technical Consultant – System Engineering (ArcGIS Enterprise)

About the role

Esri's Professional Services team is hiring a Technical Consultant focused on system engineering for ArcGIS Enterprise. You will work directly with customers to design, deploy, migrate and support enterprise-scale GIS systems, with an emphasis on high availability, disaster recovery and Kubernetes-based architectures. The role suits someone with experience administering ArcGIS Enterprise who wants to deepen expertise across multiple deployment patterns.

Key responsibilities

• Take part in enterprise migrations, architecture modernization, system recovery and disaster recovery exercises, and proofs of concept for advanced ArcGIS Enterprise deployments
• Resolve system challenges and perform advanced troubleshooting
• Lead upgrades and deployments of ArcGIS Enterprise and databases, and Windows, Linux and Kubernetes-based deployments
• Apply knowledge of relational databases, NoSQL stores, object storage, SAN and NAS, and server-side servicing stacks
• Use enterprise authentication methods (native credentials, domain-based, SAML/OIDC) and networking basics (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, TLS)
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to customers, executives and technical and non-technical audiences
• Travel up to 25%

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional experience implementing and supporting enterprise GIS systems
• Experience administering ArcGIS Enterprise
• Bachelor's degree in geography, computer science, mathematics, GIS or a STEM-related field
• US citizenship with current or active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility
• Ability to travel up to 25%

Required skills

• Familiarity with troubleshooting server-based systems and a systematic, best-practice approach to system engineering
• Preferred: cloud provider experience, scripting (shell, Python, PowerShell), and Windows/Linux/Kubernetes administration
• Preferred: networking knowledge (HTTP, TCP, TLS, DNS, firewalls, proxies)
