Technical Buyer

About the role

We are seeking a Technical Buyer to join BASF’s Global Procurement team at the Palmyra, MO site. The role supports day‑to‑day procurement for technical goods and services across multiple locations, acting as the primary contact for sites while coordinating with internal procurement functions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead sourcing processes (RFI, RFQ, RFP) and negotiate complex contracts to secure competitive supply.
• Manage relationships with key suppliers, monitor performance metrics, resolve disputes, and gather market intelligence.
• Support development of North American category strategies and align supply solutions with BASF’s strategic priorities.
• Run SAP reports, maintain master data, and perform spend analysis and data management.
• Provide procurement insights to site leadership and business units, ensuring alignment with regional and global objectives.

Required profile

• Experience in indirect procurement of technical goods and services.
• Strong ability to work autonomously and collaborate across functions such as Operations, Engineering, Accounting, and EHS.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive approach to aligning internal procurement activities with business needs.

• SAP (reporting and master data management)
