Team Lead Operator - 2nd Shift Manufacturing

About the role

KYOCERA AVX Corporation is hiring Team Lead Operators for its manufacturing and production divisions in Erie, Pennsylvania, on the second shift. The role leads the Crystal Manufacturing/Production area, coordinating work activities and obtaining the resources needed to meet manufacturing goals. It reports to the Manufacturing Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Follow instructions and lead area employees, under the direction of the direct supervisor and operations management.
• Train operators in all aspects of the department and allocate work throughout it.
• Troubleshoot and solve daily manufacturing and technical issues.
• Work with production and assembly instructions, parts lists, drawings and verbal instructions to assemble a wide range of products or components.
• Position components manually or with hand tools, operate production machinery as needed, and solder or de-solder components to finish the product.
• Perform quality assurance checks so that final assembled quartz products and components are free of damage and correctly assembled.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 2+ years of hands-on assembly, electronics or testing experience within production is preferred.
• IPC J-STD-001 certification for soldering electrical and electronic assemblies is preferred.

Required skills

• Ability to read and comprehend work instructions.
• Ability to complete basic math problems and read measuring devices.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and other software.
