About the role
The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Physical Therapy is seeking a temporary Teacher Assistant to support Gross Anatomy courses for Doctor of Physical Therapy students. The role involves assisting in laboratory dissection sessions, grading, and providing supplemental instruction.
Key responsibilities
- Assist instructors during open labs and dissection sessions, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Prepare and set up laboratory equipment and instructional materials.
- Provide guidance to students during hands‑on activities and answer anatomy‑related questions.
- Track attendance, grade assignments, and calculate final grades.
- Develop rubrics, enter data, and perform basic statistical analysis of assessment results.
- Collaborate with faculty to identify student challenges and recommend solutions.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum one year of relevant experience or comparable education.
- Successful completion of Gross Anatomy I and II courses.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Required skills
- Knowledge of human gross anatomy.
- Ability to follow laboratory safety procedures.
- Basic data entry and statistical analysis.
