Tax Staff

About the role

Frost, PLLC, a large CPA firm based in Arkansas with 50 years of history and a partner group focused on mentoring and training, is hiring a Tax Staff member in Raleigh. The role works closely with clients from many industries, with guidance from experienced staff and management, and offers a hybrid working environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and apply tax knowledge to individual returns (e.g. Form 1040) and simpler business returns (e.g. Form 1120)
• Prepare a complete, organized tax file with the supporting documentation needed for the return
• Understand tax authorities, legal precedents, rulings and regulations, and the fundamentals of tax law
• Anticipate problems and issues, and show strong communication, listening and problem-solving skills
• Follow firm practice management procedures and systems
• Build positive working relationships with all clients
• Understand the computer systems used in tax preparation and provide research support for transaction reviews

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
• Foundational knowledge of GAAP and other accounting topics
• Ability to work extended hours during the busy season
