Tax Senior I

About the role

Frost, PLLC, a full-service accounting firm offering tax, assurance, advisory, business valuation, litigation and animal welfare services, is looking for a Tax Senior I in Raleigh. Tax Seniors have sound experience preparing taxes for individuals, partnerships and corporations and provide tax services that add value to clients.

Key responsibilities

• Demonstrate an understanding of tax law principles, levels of authority, legal precedents, rulings and regulations.
• Prepare and apply tax knowledge to individual returns and moderately complex business returns such as pass-through entities and multistate returns.
• Provide research support to a transaction review process.
• Prepare complete, organized tax files with supporting documentation.
• Perform basic reviews of individual and less complex business returns.
• Maintain positive client relationships, foster teamwork, anticipate problems and show strong communication, listening and problem-solving skills.
• Comply with firm practice management procedures and use advanced computer systems for tax preparation.
• Serve as a mentor to Tax Staff and complete at least 40 hours of Continuing Professional Education each calendar year.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
• Three tax seasons of experience.
• Eligibility to sit for the CPA exam or CPA certification preferred.
• Public accounting and multistate experience strongly preferred; agribusiness, manufacturing and real estate experience preferred but not required.

Required skills

• Experience with CCH Axcess, CCH Prosystems fx Engagement, CCH AnswerConnect and other tax preparation and research software.
