Tax Manager

About the role

Frost PLLC, a full-service public accounting and advisory firm offering tax, assurance, advisory, business valuation, litigation support and animal welfare services, is hiring a Tax Manager in Raleigh. The role combines client advisory and tax expertise with team leadership, mentoring staff, seniors and supervisors, and managing complex tax projects.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted advisor, helping clients navigate complex tax landscapes and develop effective strategies
• Mentor and develop staff, seniors and supervisors, nurturing a culture of growth and learning
• Handle comprehensive tax planning and compliance, including intricate tax returns and special service engagements
• Maintain ongoing client relationships and understand their broader business needs
• Manage project timelines and budgets to ensure high-quality deliverables
• Build the firm's professional network and contribute to client retention
• Solve complex tax issues with innovative solutions

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required
• Seven or more years of public accounting tax experience
• Preferred: experience serving agribusiness clients and working at a mid-sized or larger public accounting firm
• Ability to work extended hours during busy seasons

Required skills

• Proficiency with CCH Axcess, CCH Prosystems fx Engagement, CCH AnswerConnect and other tax preparation and research software
