Tax Specialist – US Tax Compliance

About the role

Societe Generale is seeking a senior‑level Tax Specialist to lead U.S. tax compliance, provision and technology initiatives for its banking and financial services entities. The role blends core tax responsibilities with data‑driven process automation, supporting accurate reporting in a fast‑paced, highly regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review federal, state and local tax filings for banking and financial services entities, coordinating reviews and anticipating audit issues.
• Prepare and review quarterly tax provisions under IAS, liaise with external auditors and support deferred tax asset analysis.
• Research, analyze and document tax issues for compliance, audit and provision purposes, including large‑dataset analysis for reporting and forecasting.
• Maintain and enhance tax data workflows, reconciliations and controls; identify and implement automation, standardisation and risk‑reduction opportunities.

Required profile

• 5‑7 years of U.S. tax compliance experience, preferably in an accounting firm or financial services company.
• Experience with IAS tax accounting and preparation of quarterly provisions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; Master’s in Tax is a plus.
• Fluent English communication skills.

• Ability to contribute to tax technology initiatives, including automation, reporting tools and system enhancements.
