Tax Specialist (In‑House CPA)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced in‑house Tax Specialist or Certified Public Accountant to join a people‑first organization. In this hands‑on position you will ensure financial accuracy, maintain tax compliance, and provide strategic insight that supports sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day accounting operations, including general ledger, reconciliations, and month‑end close.
• Prepare accurate financial statements in accordance with applicable standards.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and meet filing deadlines.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Partner with leadership to deliver financial insights and strategic recommendations.
• Maintain internal controls and improve accounting systems and processes.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies as needed.

Required profile

• Active CPA license.
• 5‑7 years of experience in public accounting or a comparable in‑house role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax compliance.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.
• High integrity and ability to handle sensitive financial information.
• Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset.
• Willingness to work onsite in a dynamic environment.
