Tax Senior Manager – High Net Worth Individuals

About the role

Our client, a leading public accounting firm, is seeking an experienced Tax Senior Manager to join its Garden City, NY office. The role focuses on serving high‑net‑worth individuals and families, providing sophisticated tax compliance and planning services.

Key responsibilities

• Review complex federal and multi‑state tax returns for individuals, trusts, estates, nonprofit organizations, and pass‑through entities.
• Examine gift‑tax returns for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Analyze quarterly and year‑end tax projections to support planning and reporting objectives.
• Evaluate tax workpapers to ensure completeness, accuracy, and adherence to firm standards.
• Communicate information requests and tax‑related matters directly with clients via phone and email.
• Research federal, state, and international tax issues and provide recommendations on potential impacts.
• Collaborate with partners and engagement teams to develop and implement tax‑planning strategies.
• Advise clients on complex tax matters and compliance requirements.
• Mentor staff through training, coaching, and performance‑development initiatives.
• Partner with firm leadership to supervise team members and support high‑quality client service delivery.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of tax experience in a public accounting environment.
• Extensive experience serving high‑net‑worth individuals (HNWI).
• Strong review experience of complex tax returns.
• CPA or EA certification.
