Tax Associate – White Plains, NY

About the role

Our mid-sized CPA firm in White Plains is looking for a motivated Tax Associate to join a collaborative, client‑focused team. This role offers hands‑on experience with a diverse client base, mentorship from senior professionals, and a clear path for career growth.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare individual, partnership, corporate, and other tax returns.
• Assist with monthly and quarterly accounting and bookkeeping engagements.
• Prepare workpapers, reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Support payroll tax, sales tax, and other compliance filings.
• Assist with trial balance preparation and financial data analysis.
• Communicate with clients and internal teams to support engagement delivery.
• Identify and escalate issues to senior team members as needed.
• Maintain accurate and organized documentation.
• Stay current on tax and accounting developments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 1–2 years of public accounting or relevant accounting experience.
• Understanding of core accounting and tax principles.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
