Tax Analyst – Financial Technology/Telecom (Hybrid, NYC)

About the role

We are seeking a Tax Analyst to join a lean, high‑impact tax team within a global technology and communications firm serving financial institutions. The role offers broad exposure to tax compliance, accounting, regulatory reporting, transfer pricing and process improvement in a fast‑paced, hybrid environment.

Key responsibilities

• Gather, validate and analyze data for federal, state, provincial and local tax filings.
• Support income, franchise, sales & use, indirect and regulatory tax filings.
• Coordinate with external tax advisors to ensure timely, accurate submissions.
• Assist with tax account reconciliations, journal entries and provision activities (ASC 740).
• Prepare schedules and documentation for auditors and external advisors.
• Maintain tax workpapers, SOX‑compliant controls and documentation.
• Support telecommunications regulatory filings and indirect tax reporting.
• Assist with transfer pricing documentation, intercompany reporting and cross‑border tax initiatives.
• Identify and implement process‑improvement and automation opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax or related field.
• 3‑6+ years of corporate tax or public‑accounting tax experience.
• Strong understanding of U.S. federal and state taxation.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience handling large data sets.
• Ability to work independently in a lean environment.
