Tank Superintendent – Traveling Role

About the role

Advance Tank and Construction LLC is seeking an experienced Tank Superintendent to lead the construction and repair of large above‑ground steel storage units across the United States. This traveling position requires on‑site supervision, safety oversight, and coordination of civil field jobs.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a safe work environment and enforce site‑specific safety and project plans.
• Supervise the entire civil project, ensuring quality of work and materials.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute civil field jobs, keeping tasks on schedule and within budget.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings for tank construction and repairs.
• Train and direct crew members, including equipment operators.
• Perform inspections in confined spaces and at heights to verify work quality.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 + years of field superintendent experience with large storage tanks, bins, silos, or similar steel‑plate fabricated products.
• Strong interpersonal skills and professional hygiene.
• Ability to work multiple tasks, understand budgets, and meet deadlines while maintaining composure.
• Willingness to travel extensively across the lower 48 states.
• API Tank Entry Supervisor Certification and/or API 653 Certified Inspector preferred.

Required skills

• Operation and certification of generators, rectifiers, welders, air compressors, automatic welding equipment, and cranes.
• Knowledge of OHSA construction industry standards and tank‑work safety components.
• Blueprint reading and interpretation.
• Experience with workflow planning, project execution, and construction software.
