Systems Administrator (TS/SCI)

About the role

GDIT is looking for a TS/SCI cleared Systems Administrator to support its intelligence customer in London, UK. Working as a Regional Systems Administrator, you will coordinate site visits and upgrades with on-site and remote users, provide on-site and remote resolution support for trouble calls, and give Tier 2/3 support for Unix and Windows workstations and servers, including web servers, NAS devices and stored data.

Key responsibilities

• Administer desktop and server systems on local and wide-area networks, including OS installation, account monitoring and security
• Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 problem identification, diagnosis and resolution for client/server/storage/network devices and mobile devices
• Install and load OS and application software, and evaluate and install patches for COTS/GOTS products
• Troubleshoot and maintain network components, and configure OS enhancements to improve reliability and performance
• Maintain multiple linked databases, including security, data safety, integrity, disaster recovery and bulk data import/export
• Perform routine and emergency maintenance of data center equipment and coordinate preventive maintenance windows
• Help develop, administer and test backup and recovery plans, and keep systems secure to STIG guidelines using tools such as Retina and HBSS
• Follow SOPs and verify system availability with Enterprise tools

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination
• Security+ certification or DoD 8570 Level II equivalent within 90 days of hire
• TS/SCI clearance required and eligibility to obtain a polygraph
• Valid US passport and US citizenship required
• Ability to handle after-hours calls, travel 0-20% to local sites, and work under pressure
• Able to lift and move equipment up to 40 pounds

Required skills

• Unix, Windows and/or storage administration
• Experience with trouble reporting and tracking systems
• Preferred: scripting on Windows, Linux and Solaris, and knowledge of database, network and configuration management
• Preferred: experience in the imagery intelligence domain and familiarity with the customer's production systems
