Systems Administrator

About the role

Reliant Credit Union, recognized as one of Rochester’s top mid‑sized workplaces, is looking for a Systems Administrator to maintain and improve its technology infrastructure. The role involves managing servers, databases, networking hardware, and software to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and monitor network and server systems according to regulatory and best‑practice standards, leading vulnerability mitigation and supporting security solutions.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and resolve network and server issues proactively.
• Assist in long‑term strategy and capacity planning for future networking and system needs, providing recommendations for technology improvements.
• Perform regular backups of network and server environments to meet business‑continuity requirements.
• Document and report on network, server, and IT security configurations.
• Provide technical support and guidance to IT staff and Credit Union employees.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a computer‑related field or equivalent experience.
• At least three years of relevant systems administration experience.
• Advanced certification in networking, system administration, or security (highly desired).
• Hands‑on experience with server and desktop virtualization, anti‑virus/malware/intrusion‑prevention tools, automated patching, and data‑encryption technologies.
• Strong understanding of network and security principles.
• Working knowledge of PowerShell and Python scripting.
