Systems Administrator – Bozeman, MT

About the role

We are looking for a Systems Administrator to join Zoot Enterprises in Bozeman, MT. The role involves installing, configuring, and maintaining our Linux‑based server environment, ensuring security, performance, and reliable support for internal users.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and maintain servers, storage, and Linux operating systems.
• Create, manage, and assign user access levels to ensure data security.
• Analyze hardware requirements, recommend acquisitions, and coordinate purchases.
• Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures for data, software, and hardware.
• Maintain deployment standards for OS builds, updates, and patch management.
• Document system configurations, user guides, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Install software releases, system upgrades, evaluate and apply patches, and resolve software issues.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware or software problems, replacing defective components as needed.
• Perform routine maintenance and backups on servers.
• Monitor and evaluate computer system performance.
• Provide technical support, training, and documentation to IT and other departments.
• Respond to critical problem‑resolution requests, including after‑hours support.
• Use a ticketing system to track defects and enhancement requests.
• Apply Change Management and Release Management processes for code and functionality deployment.
• Plan and execute hardware and software replacements or upgrades.

Required profile

• High School Diploma.
• Bachelor's degree (field not specified).
• Relevant experience in system administration, preferably with Linux environments.
