Systems Administrator – 2nd Shift

About the role

Leidos' Digital Modernization Sector is looking for a Systems Administrator to support the GIG Service Management – Operations II (GSM‑O II) program in San Antonio, TX. The role works on a 24x7 Network Operations team during the second shift (2 pm‑10 pm, Monday‑Friday) and ensures the secure, reliable availability of DoD mobile device services.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, configure, and operate computer systems, network servers, and virtualization platforms.
• Install and upgrade hardware and software components, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, run diagnostics, document problems, prioritize incidents, and escalate to vendors when needed.
• Administer server tasks such as user/group management, security permissions, and Group Policy configuration.
• Monitor device health with existing tools, respond to hardware failures, and build or test new servers.
• Support internal infrastructure including laptops, desktops, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, and security updates; manage LAN, WAN, and network segments.
• Perform routine audits, backups, and implement Windows‑based security controls.
• Provide technical support for system validations, change management, and incident ticket resolution.

Required profile

• Experience with Windows Server or Linux Server operations, sustainment, and management.
• Ability to work the second shift (2 pm‑10 pm) Monday‑Friday as part of a 24x7 team.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and familiarity with server administration tasks.
