System Administrator

About the role

Veterans Engineering is seeking a System Administrator to support critical infrastructure for federal clients. You will manage, maintain, and optimize servers and networks to ensure high availability, security, and performance while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, test, and troubleshoot hardware and software for IT customers.
• Set up and maintain computers, servers, and networking equipment, including moving and connecting devices up to 50 lb.
• Travel across a large VA campus to deliver equipment and provide on‑site support.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware/software issues using ServiceNow, documenting all changes and incidents.
• Provision and image desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices; perform adds/moves/changes.
• Apply OS patches, upgrades, and install COTS software.
• Manage user accounts, including elevated‑privilege access.
• Install and configure software applications per change orders.
• Use log data and system‑admin tools to identify and repair hardware or software problems.
• Continuously monitor system performance and implement best‑practice improvements.
