Surgical Technologist – General OR

About the role

The General OR at Cleveland Clinic’s Main Campus provides a dynamic, team‑focused environment for complex surgeries, including GI, colorectal, oncology, bariatric, transplant and advanced robotic procedures. As a Surgical Technologist you will support the surgical team to deliver high‑quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scrub duties and assist with circulating functions under RN direction.
• Set up sterile tables, ensure supplies, drugs and equipment are ready.
• Assist RN in counting sponges, instruments and other items during surgery.
• Gown, glove and drape surgical team members and patients while maintaining aseptic conditions.
• Participate in intra‑operative time‑out and handle specimen collection, labeling and transfer.
• Support post‑operative processes, including specimen disposition and equipment sterilization.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology Program or equivalent certification (TS‑C, CST) or military program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or American Red Cross.
• Ability to perform full range of body motions, lift up to 25 lb, and stand for extended periods.
