Registered Nurse - Dialysis

About the role

Cleveland Clinic's Main Campus is hiring a Registered Nurse for its Dialysis Unit. You will care for inpatients using state-of-the-art dialysis technology and a patient-first approach, interacting directly with patients and their families and providing healthcare education when needed. The unit is located in Cleveland.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care and implement and monitor patient care plans
• Monitor, record and communicate patients' conditions, and evaluate, update and revise the plan of care
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders
• Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs
• Educate patients and families, taking cultural issues and special concerns into account
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to approved nursing protocol

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• One year of current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting; military RN experience will be considered
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross
• Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Required skills

• BLS certification
• Ability to handle and lift patients, with good dexterity and eye-hand coordination
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods and work under stress and irregular hours
• Exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids

The schedule is days from 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with three 12-hour shifts, every other Saturday (closed Sundays), on-call duty 1-2 times every six weeks and holiday requirements.
