Surgical Technologist – Coral Springs FHC Surgery Center

About the role

The Surgical Technologist provides essential support to surgeons and nurses throughout the peri‑operative process at the Coral Springs Family Health and Surgery Center. This PRN position works day shifts and contributes to high‑quality patient care in a state‑of‑the‑art outpatient surgical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain sterile fields, assemble and open sterile packs, and ensure aseptic technique throughout procedures.
• Pass instruments, retract tissue, and assist surgeons and assistants with suction and other intra‑operative tasks.
• Collect and label surgical specimens, manage instrument counts, and ensure proper decontamination and documentation.
• Float as needed to provide coverage for Endoscopy Technician duties.

Required profile

• Graduate of a Surgical Technology program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES, or completion of a military surgical technology program.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (TS‑C or CST) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb unassisted and heavier items with assistance; physical stamina for a fast‑paced OR environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in sterile technique and instrument handling.
• Knowledge of AORN peri‑operative guidelines and patient positioning standards.
• Experience with preparing surgeon preference lists and managing biohazard materials.
