OR Service Assistant I

About the role

The OR Service Assistant I supports surgical operations at the Coral Springs Family Health and Surgery Center. Working days from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., you will assist with patient transport, set up the Operating Room, and ensure equipment and supplies are ready for each case.

Key responsibilities

• Transport patients and prepare the OR for surgery.
• Maintain, operate, and store surgical instrument sets and special equipment.
• Coordinate equipment and supplies for service‑specific cases, tracking loaned items.
• Monitor sterile conditions, clean used instruments, and verify supply expiration dates monthly.
• Order supplies, stock, run labs, and transport blood and materials.
• Document equipment repairs and act as a liaison to educate staff on proper equipment use.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• One year of patient‑care experience in a hospital setting (preferred).
• Sterile processing certification (preferred).

Required skills

• Ability to lift and carry items up to 25 lb and push/pull carts up to 200 lb.
• Full range of motion, manual dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination.
• Corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
