About the role

The Surgical Technician – Per Diem supports the surgical team by preparing the operating suite, maintaining a sterile field, and ensuring all instruments and equipment are ready for procedures. This position is essential for patient safety and efficient workflow in the surgery center.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare the surgical suite and ensure environmental safety for patients and staff.
• Practice aseptic technique and maintain a neat, organized sterile field.
• Label medications and solutions on the surgical field.
• Return used instruments for decontamination and restock supplies.
• Participate in stocking sub‑sterile rooms and prepare supplies for the next day.
• Maintain confidentiality of medical, financial, and employee information.
• Clean and sterilize surgical instruments and assist with inventory and ordering.
• Adhere to university and unit policies, safeguarding assets.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent; relevant experience, certification, or license.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant surgical technician experience.
• Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
