Supply Chain Intern

About the role

Adient, a global leader in automotive seating, is hiring a Summer Supply Chain Intern in its Central Tech Unit in Plymouth, Michigan. The internship runs from May 3, 2027 through August 12, 2027, with a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week, working onsite.

Key responsibilities

• Manage domestic and international supply base supporting North American manufacturing
• Manage supplier delivery performance
• Support Master Data Management (MDM) adherence activities
• Attend demand and supply plan reviews
• Support capacity studies
• Report on supply plan KPIs related to supplier management
• Collaborate with Purchasing, Supply Chain Execution, Supply Chain Planning and Operations teams to maintain raw material supply
• Support standardization across the region and perform analysis as required
• Gain hands-on experience in a central planning team

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in an accredited university and working toward a 4-year B.S. in Supply Chain, Business, Management or Finance
• Minimum overall GPA of at least 3.0
• Available to work up to 40 hours per week
• Previous internship or co-op experience in an automotive-related position is an added plus

Required skills

• Solid analytical skills and ability to work with customers, suppliers and the development team
• Strong verbal and written communication, attention to detail, organization and follow-up
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Data gathering and quantitative and qualitative data analysis, including business process metrics linked to KPIs, ideally in a manufacturing environment
• Building relationships with internal and external customers based on trust and confidence
