Supply Chain Coordinator – 1st Shift (Full‑time)

About the role

The University of Iowa Health Care Material Services department is seeking a full‑time Supply Chain Coordinator for the 1st shift (8:00 AM‑4:30 PM). The role supports hospital storeroom operations, oversees second‑shift staff, and ensures smooth receipt, storage, and distribution of medical supplies.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and schedule second‑shift staff, handling shift trades and vacation coverage.
• Receive, store, and distribute medical supplies; operate hand‑controlled material handling equipment for loading/unloading trucks.
• Maintain inventory records and receipt transactions in PeopleSoft.
• Replenish and troubleshoot Omnicell automated supply cabinets.
• Manage budget adjustments for inventory discrepancies and ensure accurate charging.
• Serve as manager on duty for the receiving dock, verify deliveries (mainly Owens & Minor), and report discrepancies.
• Analyze Omnicell usage reports, track stock‑outs, and recommend par levels.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience.
• At least one year of experience in supply management, receiving, warehousing, or distribution.
• Previous supervisory or directing experience.
• Proven ability to build effective relationships with peers and leadership.
• Strong team‑building and resource‑planning capabilities.
