About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a full‑time Supervisor, Patient Access to lead its Central Insurance Verification Department remotely. The role ensures smooth insurance verification, financial clearance, and documentation for patients scheduled across the medical group and hospital divisions.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily workflows of Insurance Verification Representatives, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to university policies.
• Manage staff schedules based on call demand and monitor key metrics to maintain service levels.
• Conduct performance appraisals, provide feedback, and initiate disciplinary actions when needed.
• Investigate and resolve inquiries from faculty, administration, and department leaders.
• Serve as subject‑matter expert during in‑service sessions on insurance and registration guidelines.
• Train, orient, and evaluate staff responsible for benefit verification, authorizations, and registration in EPIC and UChart.
• Assist the Patient Access Manager with planning and scheduling of visit volumes, including same‑day and add‑on appointments.
• Maintain accurate employee time records in Workday.
