About the role
The Buffalo Board of Education is seeking a Supervising School Clerk (Provisional) to lead clerical operations across its elementary and secondary schools. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Placement and Registration, the incumbent will oversee school office management, student registration, and data entry functions.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, plan, evaluate and continuously improve clerical work procedures.
- Assign and rotate school clerical staff daily, maintaining activity control records and workload schedules.
- Provide in‑service training for clerical personnel on specialized tasks, especially data entry into the Student Information System.
- Supervise and mentor school clerks, temporary summer staff, and Central Registration Center employees.
- Review current operations through observation and report analysis, advising superiors on procedural enhancements.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on clerical performance and registration metrics.
Required profile
- Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment in complex administrative environments.
- Experience supervising clerical teams within an educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of school registration processes and student data management.
- Capability to train staff on system usage and peak‑time operations.
Required skills
- Proficiency with the Student Information System used by Buffalo Public Schools.
