About the role
The University of Miami is seeking seasonal lifeguards to maintain a safe natatorium environment during the summer months. This part‑time, temporary role involves supervising pool and spa areas, enforcing policies, and ensuring swimmer safety.
Key responsibilities
- Promote and enforce natatorium regulations and Whitten UC Pool policies.
- Monitor swimmers, communicate safety information, and respond to emergencies.
- Apply risk‑management and lifesaving procedures as needed.
- Assist with swim programs and pool activities.
- Train new employees when required and perform other duties as assigned.
Required profile
- Current Lifeguard certification.
- Valid CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Ability to work primarily unsupervised while staying alert, responsible, and mature.
- Positive attitude with a strong focus on customer service.

What we offer
- Hourly wage starting at $17.00.
- Part‑time, temporary summer schedule (Mon‑Fri 6 am‑7:30 pm, Sat 8 am‑5 pm, Sun 12 pm‑5 pm).
