Summer 2027 Supply Chain Buyer Internship in Austin

About the role

Applied Materials' Global Supply Chain Department is seeking interns for a 12‑week summer program in 2027. Interns will support Supplier Account Managers, Procurement/Materials Managers, and Supply Chain Analytics while gaining hands‑on experience in a leading semiconductor equipment company.

Key responsibilities

• Complete supplier requests for quotations (RFQs) and work with suppliers on obsolescence compliance.
• Prepare supplier profiles, perform part analytics, and support cost‑reduction initiatives.
• Assist Buyer functions such as creating, rescheduling, and cancelling purchase orders, expediting material deliveries, and resolving invoice discrepancies.
• Conduct MRP and spend analytics to identify optimization opportunities and mitigate excess inventory.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to quality.
• Valid work authorization for the internship period (no visa sponsorship provided).

Required skills

• Advanced Excel for data manipulation and analysis.
• Data analytics proficiency, including handling multiple data sets.
• Experience with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.
• Spend analytics and optimization techniques.
