Summer 2027 Intern, Transaction Tax Compliance

About the role

Ryan is looking for a Summer 2027 intern interested in state, local, federal and international taxation. You will work side by side with subject matter experts in a team-based environment to identify tax savings opportunities for Fortune 500 and 1,000 clients, with training and development to become a seasoned tax professional.

Key responsibilities

• Provide exceptional client service to multi-state companies by identifying tax savings opportunities
• Assist multi-state companies with state and local tax controversies, including preparing clients for auditor discussions, representing them at hearings and appeal meetings, and preparing protests
• Research and draft technical memoranda on state and local tax questions or issues
• Respond to client inquiries and requests from tax authorities
• Review documentation and research issues
• Work with raw data to complete detailed calculations

Required profile

• Working toward a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Real Estate or Economics
• Anticipated graduation within one year of the internship
• Minimum overall and major GPA of 2.8
• Minimum of 6-12 accounting hours depending on practice
• Valid driver's license; no supervisory responsibilities

Required skills

• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment, prioritizing tasks and working independently and in teams
