Subpoena Clerk

About the role

The law firm of Marshall Dennehey is seeking a full-time Subpoena Clerk for its Orlando, FL office. The Subpoena Clerk maintains the filing system and assists attorneys with subpoena requests.

Key responsibilities

• Review client guidelines to determine the proper method of obtaining records from third parties.
• If the client allows in-house subpoenas, draft Notices of Productions and Subpoenas to providers at the direction of the attorney and/or paralegal.
• If the client uses a preferred vendor, provide the vendor with all information needed, including billing instructions, to draft subpoenas.
• Ensure timely submission of invoices for costs associated with obtaining records, and review documents received from the vendor for accuracy.
• File documents with the court and serve them on required parties, and conduct follow-up on records by letter and/or phone.
• Maintain a contemporaneous log of all requests and actions, track records on the office's subpoena tracking document, and notify the attorney and/or paralegal promptly of any difficulties.
• Maintain a diary system according to office standards, keep cases organized, and perform other related duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma or its equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience.
• Regular in-office attendance; remote work permitted per firm policy.
