Student Work‑Study Assistant – Student Health Services

About the role

This part‑time work‑study position supports the Student Health Services office at Texas A&M International University. The role is designed for enrolled students who can balance campus duties with their academic schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Handle routine office inquiries from employees and students.
• Assist with day‑to‑day departmental maintenance and clerical functions such as answering phones, filing, scheduling, and organizing.
• Participate in training on bloodborne pathogen safety and proper disposal of bio‑hazard materials.
• Complete other related duties as assigned by department staff.

Required profile

• Enrolled at least half‑time (6 credit hours for undergraduates, 3 for graduates).
• Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 (undergraduate) or 3.0 (graduate).
• Current, complete file with the Office of Financial Aid and annual FAFSA submission demonstrating financial need.
• U.S. citizen, permanent resident, eligible non‑citizen, or holder of an alien registration number.
• Compliance with TAMIU’s Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy.

Required skills

• Proficiency with a personal computer workstation and common software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).
• Ability to organize tasks, meet deadlines, and handle confidential information.
