Student Learning & Development Manager

About the role

The Manager of Student Learning & Development leads LSU CxC’s student‑facing programs, creating high‑impact learning experiences that enhance writing, speaking, visual, and technological communication skills across disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Create and deliver in‑class and out‑of‑class workshops, e‑learning resources, coaching sessions, and interactive learning spaces to support communication‑intensive teaching.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate undergraduate Peer Communication Coaches, ensuring they provide effective coaching on multimodal communication assignments.
• Manage the LSU Distinguished Communicator Medal program, including workshops, portfolio feedback, faculty advisor support, and ceremony planning.
• Contribute to additional CxC programming, initiatives, and events as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years of experience in learning design, instructional delivery, and coaching/development (or 7+ years without a degree).
• Demonstrated ownership, sound judgment, and proactive communication.
• Exceptional writing, interpersonal, visual communication, presentation, and facilitation abilities.
• Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and able to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.

Required skills

• Expertise in at least one specialty: visual communication, media production/technological communication, or STEM/technical communication.
• Proficiency with multimodal communication approaches and emerging technologies.

What we offer

• Annual salary range $65,000–$68,000, based on experience and qualifications.
